The Hollow Man
Real Name: Sebastian Caine
Identity/Class: Human mutate
Occupation: Scientist
Affiliations: None
Enemies: Linda McKay; Matthew Kensington; Sarah Kennedy; Janice Walton; Dr. Howard Kramer (fellow scientists)
Known Relatives: None known
Aliases: None known
Base of Operations: Unknown
First Appearance: The Hollow Man (Columbia Pictures, 2000)
Powers/Abilities: Permanently invisible - this power didn't extend to clothes, so like a lot of the traditional invisible men, he had to go naked to utilise the ability. In order to pass for human, Caine would wear a mask with his (lack of) eyes hidden behind glasses. His insanity also meant he was stronger and more persistent than a sane man, and capable of ignoring minor injuries.
History: Sebastian Caine was a brilliant scientist, one of a group working for the U.S. military on developing a way of making living subjects invisible. They made a break-through in their research, but having successfully turned animals invisible, Caine decided to use a human subject (himself) for the next stage. Using their serum on himself, he managed to turn himself invisible, only to find that it was a one way process, in spite of the best efforts of his colleagues. As time passed Caine became increasingly irrational (whether as a side effect of the process, or due to the psychological effects of being invisible), until he became psychotic and started murdering his fellow scientists. Eventually the last two survivors, Linda McKay and Matthew Kensington, managed to kill him, and escaped their underground lab seconds ahead of an explosion that destroyed all their work.
