Powers/Abilities: Mamoru is a skilled martial artist. As Tuxedo Kamen, he carried red roses with extremely sharp tips, which he could throw like blades - as Moonlight Knight, he did the same, except the roses were white. Tuxedo Kamen carried a cane, which he used to attack and block with; Moonlight Knight replaced this with a sabre.

History: Like the Sailor Scouts, Mamoru was the reincarnation of a long dead hero. He had once been Prince Endymion of Earth, consort and protector to Princess Serena, who was in modern times reborn as Sailor Moon. In this life Mamoru was orphaned as a young child, but his memories of his former life were awoken when the Moon Crystal was formed. Feeling he should be protecting the Sailor Scouts, he created the identity of Tuxedo Kamen. His ties to Sailor Moon were strengthened when he discovered that in the future they were destined to marry and have a daughter, Sailor Chibi.

Some time later Darien lost his memory following a battle with Queen Beryl. Unable to become Tuxedo Kamen, he still felt compelled to defend Serena, so he adopted a new costumed identity, Tsukikage no Knight (Moonlight Knight), until his memory was restored.

Comments: Created by Naoko Takeuchi. Voiced by Tohro Furuya in the Japanese anime, and by Rino Romano, Toby Proctor and Vince Corozza in the English language translations.

Thanks to Paul Padilla for correcting me on his name, and providing a translation of it.

Spanish fan Ana Varas kindly provided a lot of the above information about this character. Check out her Sailor Moon site. She also mentions that his secret identity in the Spanish (and U.S.) version is Darien Chiba.
