Powers/Abilities: Able to fly, generate heat.

History: Swedish superhuman Karl Hansen served in the U.N.'s Stormwatch Prime team as Sunburst. During the Gulf War, they were sent into Kuwait to stop Iraqi soldiers igniting oil fields, but were ambushed by Deathtrap and his Mercs. StormWatch Prime's leader, Battalion, escaped, but wrongly believed his team slain; in truth, Sunburst and Nautika had been captured, while the last member of the team, Flashpoint, had secretly been working for Deathtrap. Sunburst and Nautika were taken as prisoners to the island nation Gamorra, where they were brainwashed by Defile into serving him, working to manipulate StormWatch into conflict with the WildCATs. However this also led StormWatch to learn of their lost colleagues' survival, and during the ensuing battle against Defile, Sunburst broke his conditioning and he and Nautika were rescued. Reassigned to SkyWatch, he and Nautika subsequently married.
