History: The Anubisti and the Horusians have been at war across our galaxy for centuries, taking their fight from world to world after the destruction of their homeworld early in the conflict. The Quo, a peace-loving reptilian race from the same solar system, began to send a warrior guardian called Thermakk to each world invaded by the conflict, armed with five crystalline power chambers capable of transforming local inhabitants into unique champions who could protect their worlds. In the 1930s the war came to Earth.

Thermakk did his job, and five human heroes were created, and formed the superhero team known as the Paxis. They defended Earth until the evil Paragon John, desiring their power for himself, destroyed them, and then brainwashed the entire world into thinking that the Paxis had been nothing more than a fiction. Try as he might though, he could not locate the hidden power chambers; nor could the guardain Thermakk. Then, in modern times, four teenagers (and one dog) stumbled across the chambers in the basement of an abandoned cinema on Hollywood Boulevard. Entering the chambers they gained the powers of the Paxis, and formed a new group - the Hyperkind.
