History: Cursed by an Indian fakir, our hero was turned into a man of living rubber.
(Untitled, Smash Annual 1969) Rubberman has hired an apartment in a high-rise, hoping to get some piece and quiet from the press. But a fire forces him to show himself once more, and he rescues a number of people from the conflagration. Afterwards he locates some evidence that suggests sabotage, and a quick check around insurance companies turns up a man who has being buying and insuring old tenements. Captured by the crooks while eavesdropping on their plans, he escapes and catches the crooks red handed as they prepare to burn down another building.
