History: el Monje Negro is a mysterious immortal who, for reasons I don't know, looked out for the adventuress Adelita (another, non-superpowered Mexican character)

Comments: El Monje Negro first appeared on a radio show, but his popularity came in the Adelita Comic Books and later in his own title in the 1960s by Ediciones Jos G. Cruz (the same Santo Publisher). Thanks to Felix A. Romero H. for this information, and for the image above.
