History: Sergeant Rip Jagger was the sole survivor of his army unit when the Japanese took a remote Pacific island. Taken in by the native resistance he was trained by them in their martial arts, and proved to be a natural. His new skill set complimented his existing expertise in the weapons and tactics of the U.S. military to make him an especially formidable foe, so he was chosen by the resistance leader, Sensei, to become a symbol for his people to rally around, and given a costume and codename, Judomaster. After helping free the island from Japanese control Jagger returned to the U.S. forces, who utilized his new capabilities to perform commando missions. Along the way he picked up a sidekick, Tiger, a young Japanese American boy.

One of a number of Charlton heroes who was briefly revived as part of the DC Universe, after that company bought the rights to the Charlton characters. Gabriel informs me that "Judomaster was also used by DC in their All Star Squadron I believe. Seeing as how he wasn't endowed with superpowers, he was able to enter Europe and Japan whereas superpowerered heroes were overwhelmed by an individual who was able to cancel out their powers." Thanks for this info.
Nathan Genovese mentions that subsequent to this, DC established that Judomaster moved into the Tibetan city Nanda Parbat where no one aged. After Tiger turned evil though and became known as Avatar, Judomaster returned and teamed up with other Charlton heroes to form a short lived team known as L.A.W. in order to stop him.
