History: Judy Allen was a junior partner in Ford and Allen detectives, putting up with her smug and sexist senior partner Rocky Ford. Judy maintained a secret life as a costumed crimfighter, the Black Orchid, often teaming up with fellow hero the Scarlet Nemesis; ironically neither one realised that they worked with one another out of costume, for the Scarlet Nemesis was secretly Rocky Ford!
