History: Vila was a genius; smart enough to fake his own test scores down to hide his intellect, so that he wouldn't be automatically enlisted as an officer in the military. Instead he was graded for a nice, safe, menial job. But he grew bored and turned his hand to theft for the challenge. Eventually he was caught and sent to a penal colony for his crimes. On the transport ship he encountered Roj Blake and Kerr Avon. After they escaped on an alien vessel Vila was deposited on the planet with the other convicts. But Blake and Avon returned, seeking a crew for their ship, and thus Vila ended up joining Blake's band of rebels. Fuller profile to follow
