Enemies: U.S.Government
Base of Operations: U.S.A.
First Appearance: Tribal Force #1 (Mystic Comics, 2002)
History: It is 2006, a handful of years in the future. The U.S. government is planning on confiscating the land from an Indian reservation, keen to get hold of the natural resources located there, by force if necessary. When plans are put in motion to bomb the residents out, a group of Native Americans find themselves drawn together and mystically empowered, charged with preventing this injustice. Each one is powerful individually, but together they make up Tribal Force.
Thunder Eagle appears to have been the first member of the team to gain powers. Somehow sensing the others, he sent a Thunderbird to collect Basho Yazza, incest survivor and law student, and bring her to him. While this was happening, he flew to a bar where Gabriel Medicine God had just undergone his first transformation into his alter ego. Gabriel, a victim of fetal alcohol syndrome that had left him mute all his life, had witnessed the death of his closest friend, Jesse Tall Grass, knifed to death by a racist redneck in a bar room brawl, and it seems to have been this incident that initiated his metamorphosis.
