Powers/Abilities: As well as being an expert skater, Billy also knows some martial arts, and is a Vietnam veteran; this makes him a dangerous opponent in a fight. As well as being fond of kicking people in the face with his skates, Skateman also wears a utility belt containing a variety of weapons.
History: Billy "the Kid" was a star of the roller derby circuit, until he accidentally killed his best friend during a match. Grief stricken, he quits the game and moves with his girlfriend April to California. But when April, a reporter, is murdered by drug dealers while working on a story, Billy adopts the costumed identity of the vigilante Skateman, and sets out to deal harsh justice to the criminals he encounters.

Billy is unemployed after he moves to the West Coast, leaving him plenty of time to fight crime. He has a sidekick, a street-kid called Paco, a champion skateboarder who rides a motorised skateboard Billy made for him.
