History: Dick Jones was an "ex-All American fullback, ex-collegiate boxing, wrestling, fencing champ!" Jones had a few secrets though - for one, he maintained another identity, that of the millionaire Van Engen. He used this other identity to fund his true passion - dressed in a jacket, fedora, red cape and glowing red domino mask, he fought crime as The Phantom Reporter! "By Day, cub reporter...by night, relentless scourge of the Underworld."
