Known Relatives: David Grant (father), Betty Jo Trent Grant (mother)
Aliases: Man of a Thousand Parts, Jiggy
Base of Operations: Boston, Maine
First Appearance: Scary Tales #38 (Charlton Comics, May 1983)
Powers/Abilities: Able to mentally control every molecule of his body, allowing him to separate limbs from his torso and control them independently. The separated body parts can fly around unaffected by gravity. Bullets don't hurt him, as they merely blow holes in his body that he then reseals.
History:While a student in the Mackland Science Center of Maine's Orono Campus, young student Betty Jo Trent was unwittingly exposed to the trans-molecular charger core invented by mad scientist Professor Thaddeus Coran. A few years later after she had married her son Charles Grant was born, and from birth displayed the ability to control every molecule of his body via thought, allowing him to split into pieces with all parts individually animated. At sixteen an issue of the comic Captain Justice inspired him to become a superhero when he grew up. He intended to call himself Justice after his favourite character, and so devised a costume with the letter J on the chest, but a chance encounter with reporter Amy Boucher and some robbers ended with Amy seeing the insignia and dubbing him Mr. Jigsaw.
