History: When Mark Hollander was playing his favourite videogame “Ace Lightning and the Carnival of Doom” not long after moving to America from London, a bolt of lightning struck the house and brought the characters to life. With the CGI’s thinking the real world was just another level from the videogame, Mark ended up being elected as Ace Lightning’s sidekick through sheer timing. Despite his early protests that he was “not a lightning knight” and just wanted to get back into a normal life, Mark soon got used to his role as sidekick (even if it has made living a normal life extremely difficult and cost him a few girlfriends). Mark has no powers per se, which surprised Ace on their first meeting, but his bond with the characters has saved both their hides on many an occasion.

Mark holds the central piece of the Amulet of Zoar, given to him by Ace – part of a Lightning Knight artefact which, when all the pieces are brought together, bestows unprecedented power on the holder.

Comments: Played by Tom Wansey.
