Due to pressure from the Mexican Department of Education, who were worried it might create interest in genuine witchcraft, the title was later changed to Hermelinda Linda (Pretty Hermelinda - I'm amazed they didn't then pursue the publisher for false advertising!)

Thanks to Maria for informing me about Hermelinda Linda's enemy, Aniceto. Maria notes that Aniceto "had the burrerias book", while Linda "had the brujerias one". Thanks to Fernando Franco Quiroz for the top image on this page.

Actress Evita Muñoz starred as Hermelinda Linda in two Mexican movies: 1984's Hermelinda Linda and 1986's Agente 0013: Hermelinda Linda II.
