Grail

Real Name: Salvador Joel Alonday

Identity/Class: Human technology user (cyborg?)

Occupation: Soldier, assassin

Affiliations: member of Wetworks

Enemies: the Night Tribes

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Mobile

First Appearance: WildC.A.T.S. #2 (Image)

Powers/Abilities: Like all members of Wetworks, Grail is bonded to a symbiote which normally hides inside him, but can flow out to coat his skin with a golden armour. As well as making him virtually invulnerable, this enhances his strength and reflexes. He has a telepathic link with the other symbiote wearers, the rest of Wetworks.

Grail was a martial arts expert, whose "chi" was enhanced by his symbiote - after a while his Gold began to glow with a blue-white light, which enhanced his invulnerability, allowed him to generate hand-to-hand weapons out of chi, and incinerates organic matter on contact.

He is vulnerable to electricity, and his symbiote has been shown to be weakened by magentic fields.

History: Filippino born Joel Alonday joined the Philippine's Marine Rangers as soon as he was old enough to do so, swiftly rising to the rank of Major. During a joint U.S.-Philippines drug bust operation he met Colonel Jackson Dane, who was so impressed with what he saw that he recruited Joel a year later when he was forming his new Team-7. This in turn led him to become bonded to one of the Gold symbiotes during a mission, and with the rest of his squad he went AWOL and formed Wetworks.

Grail remained the team's assassin, eventually learning to activate his Chi and enhance his fighting capabilities further - though he later became unable to switch this off. Somewhat vain, he worked out a lot when not on a mission, bulking up his body to the point where it became dangerous for his heart. He wore a mask to protect his face in battle.
