Comments: Created by Alex Toth. The show lasted 20 episodes. While they shared a time slot on TV, it wasn't until they shared a comic book that the Galaxy Trio actually met and worked alongside Birdman and his eagle Avenger.
The Trio also appeared in Hanna-Barbera Super TV Heroes #1 and 2, published by Gold Key in 1968 (in the latter of which the Trio team up with Birdman) and Cartoon Network Presents #17 from DC (1999).
Preston B. informs me that "a company called Toynami has the rights to produce toys of these characters, but has decided not to based on the fact that they feel there is not enough interest. I am hoping to convince them that there are a lot of fans out there that would love to get there hands on animation maquettes and action figures of the Galaxy Trio." He asks anyone who would like to help him change Toynami's mind e-mail them at info@toynami.com and tell them you'd like to see toys of them.
Vapor Man Identity/Class: Extra-terrestrial Occupation: Peace keeper Affiliations: The Galaxy Trio Enemies: Same as The Galaxy Trio Known Relatives: None known Aliases: None known Base of Operations: The Condor 1. Powers/Abilities: Able to turn into gaseous form, with what type of gas being a matter of simple choice. He can transform part or all of his body, slip through small gaps and fly while in this state. History: Vapor Man comes from the planet Vaporus, where it seems that many, if not all, of his race have the power to transform into sentient gas. At some point he left his homeworld and enlisted in the Galactic Patrol, becoming one of the Galaxy Trio. Comments: Vapor Man was voiced by Don Messick |
Meteor Man Identity/Class: Extra-terrestrial Occupation: Peace keeper Affiliations: The Galaxy Trio Enemies: Same as The Galaxy Trio Known Relatives: None known Aliases: None known Base of Operations: The Condor 1 Powers/Abilities: Able to selectively grow any part of his body up to an unspecified maximum size. He gains superhuman strength in any limbs he grows. He can also shrink, though he rarely does so. It is uncertain if all members of his race have this power, or whether he is unique. History: A native of the planet Meteorus, Meteor Man left his homeworld to enlist in the Galactic Patrol, and became a member of the Galaxy Trio. He returned home with his team-mates when Moltens, a race who lived under the planet's surface, were driving his people from their world using earthquakes and lava. He successfully brokered a peace whereby the Moltens were given an uninhabited world of their own. Comments: Meteor Man was voiced by Ted Cassidy. Gravity Girl Identity/Class: Extra-terrestrial Occupation: Peace keeper Affiliations: The Galaxy Trio Enemies: Same as The Galaxy Trio Known Relatives: The King of Gravitas (father) Aliases: None known Base of Operations: The Condor 1. Powers/Abilities: Able to lift things with her mind, or increase an object's gravity to make it harder to lift; she sometimes uses this to pin opponents to the ground by increasing their personal gravity. She can fly using this ability. It is not clear if this power is native to all her race, only possessed by the royalty of her people, or if she is in some way unique. History: The daughter of the King of the planet Gravitas, Gravity Girl left her homeworld and life of privilege to join the Galactic Patrol. She was appointed a member of the Galaxy Trio, where she has served with distinction ever since. Comments: Gravity Girl was voiced by Virginia Eiler. Thanks to Dwellyn Myrddin for additional information. |
