History: Born a mutant with insect like eyes, "Fly-Eyes" Wagner's father decided not to pay for surgery to remove them and allow his son to pass for normal, since he was convinced the boy's mutation extended to his brain too, making him evil. Whether this was accurate or not, the boy grew up suffering from the persecution commonly heaped upon mutants, becoming increasingly bitter and resentful at the father who he felt had condemned him to a second-class life. During the Mutant Uprisings he became an efficient killer for the Mutant Army, and was an eager recruit into the S/D Agency upon its inception. He eventually partnered with Lips Rainsworth, working with him for four years, but after they won a Cr. 1.5 million reward, Fly-Eyes murdered Lips in an unspecified but exceptionally brutal way rather than share it. Sentenced to death, he fled back to his home town of Sharpesville, California and murdered his father, but was pursued and cornered by Johnny Alpha, Wulf Sternhammer and the Gronk, and desperately used a dimension warp bomb to try to escape them. However, his pursuers followed him before the rift snapped shut again, and all four found themselves trapped in a bizarre pocket dimension resembling Hell. Alpha soon captured Fly-Eyes, and eventually, in the city of Hate, the group won a single ticket that would allow one of their party to return home; Alpha chose to send Wagner, ensuring he rematerialised inside the Offices of the Galactic Crime Commission, where he was promptly taken into custody, and presumably executed.

Comments: Created by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra. Fly-Eyes' first name, his father's name, the location of Sharpesville, several enemies (warrants he terminated), the name of his partner, his part in the Mutant Uprising and the motivation behind murdering his partner were all given in Mongoose Publishing's Strontium Dog game, fleshing out details absent in his comic appearance; some might argue that this means those details aren't canon, but lacking any contradictory info from the Strontium Dog strip I have no qualms about including them here.

CLARIFICATIONS: None.
