Plot Summary: In the near future superhumans dubbed the Gods came to Earth, offering to help mankind with incredible powers. For a time they carried out heroic deeds, saving lives, and the world welcomed them with open arms, believing they were protectors. But all too soon the Gods decided that humanity didn't deserve to rule themselves, and demanded they bow down before them and accept the Gods as their rulers. When most of humanity refused, the Gods exterminated them. Now human society has all but been destroyed, with ragtag bands of survivors existing among the ruins, trying to avoid the attention of the Gods and their Followers, while fighting a guerilla war where a human's life expectancy in battle against a superbeing is just ten seconds.
