History: The ancient Greek mariner Odysseus was cursed by the god of winds Aeolous to recapture bad winds he had accidentally released, and that curse passed on down to his descendents. In the 1930s fourteen year old Bob Sanders' home town of Windy Gap was struck by a cyclone, which killed his parents and enveloped him. Bob should have died, but instead he emerged able to generate cyclonic winds around himself. Dubbing himself the Twister, he became a crimefighter.
Comments: Created by Paul Gustavson.
In the issue which Twister debuted, he made cameo appearances as a tornado which briefly materialised in the other strips in the comic, including those of Wonder Boy, Sub-Zero and Blue Bolt, effectively confirming the existence of a Novelty Comics universe native to several of the company's characters.
