Given his invention of Slick-Stick, he's an at least above average chemist.
History: David Tolchin grew up in New York City under the care of his Uncle Rudy, a violent man with an inexplicable hatred of costumed heroics. Unfortunately for David, he had a fascination for them, which resulted in frequent beatings from Rudy, with only his cousin Ruth to protect him. David also had a lifelong interest in glues, pastes, resins and emulsions, which led to him discovering a fast-setting, incredibly strong gooey glue he dubbed Slick-Stick. When he subsequently stumbled across a marooned and dying alien in an alleyway, it gifted him with its spacesuit, setting the costume to only work for David's metabolic imprint. Now an adult living in Detroit and paying his bills as a freelance movie critic, David became the crimefighter known as the Slick.
