Though it appeared as a one-shot in Speed Annual 1982, the pacing of the story and its end makes it feel very much like the initial couple of episodes of what was intended to be an ongoing tale, and it may be that Sleekswift was originally planned to be a replacement strip in the weekly until said weekly title was cancelled. It has the same kind of feel as other "from the perspective of wild animals" tales such as Buster's Marnie the Fox.
