History: The reincarnation of the high priest of the Egyptian sun god Ra, Peter Ward's day time job was as an expert in Egyptian history, but at night he would fight crime as the Scarab. By touching the scarab ring given to him by Bast, he transformed instantaneously in a blinding flash of light into his superhuman persona, granted powers beyond those of mortal men.
