Rich
Real Name: Richard
Identity/Class: Were-rat
Occupation: Unknown
Affiliations: Ian, Don, Teresa
Enemies: None known
Known Relatives: None known
Aliases: None known
Base of Operations: Penthouse apartment, San Francisco
First Appearance: Bats, Cats and Cadillacs #1 (Now, October 1990)
Powers/Abilities: Rich is a were-rat. He can transform into a three foot high rat, walking upright, wearing sneakers and talking. In this form he has a nasty bite, and is very agile.
History: Richard is a well adjusted were-rat, highly comfortable to be what he is and able to control his transformations without any apparent problems. He is a bit of a slob, which is a slight problem when sharing an apartment with a fastidious creature like Ian, the were-cat. How the two got to know each other is uncertain, but by the time they meet Don Weiderman and Teresa, they appear to have been cohabiting for a while. Rich owns the apartment they stay in, and pays the bills.
The relief of boredom is Rich's main driving force. He and Ian often go into town for the night with express intention of freaking people out with their powers. He is also the more likely of the two to pick a fight - like many smaller men, he compensates by being argumentative.
Comments: Created by Tony C. Caputo, written by Diane M. Piron, and illustrated by Hannibal King.
Rich and Ian are not a couple, as they have separate rooms.
Rich will often travel down from his penthouse apartment to street level by flushing himself down the toilet and then emerging from the sewers.
