History: (Young Men #21-23, ga) The sign on his office said "Rex Lane. Private Investigator. We specialize in the unusual and hard to handle." Having failed the physical exams to become a police man, Rex Lane was convinced by his fiancee Belle to become a private investigator, allowing him to fight crime his own way. When his first case proved to involve a genuine haunted house, Rex became a specialist in cases involving the supernatural, always approaching cases with a skeptical, but open, mind - his usual modus operandi when confronted with a ghost was to discover what they wanted (usually for their murderer to be caught), and then see if he could help them achieve this goal.
Comments: Thanks to Jess Nevins for allowing me to use information from his excellent Golden Age Heroes Directory and his Guide to Golden Age Marvel Characters. Thanks also to Richard Boucher & Darrin Wiltshire @ PR-Publications for permission to use information from their equally brilliant collection of Golden Age Sites, PR Publications. Their knowledge of Golden Age characters far outstrips my own.
