Powers/Abilities: Skilled pilot and mechanic, excellent hand to hand fighter.

History: When young Mickey Malone attempted to enlist in the U.S. Air Corps shortly after America entered World War II, he was rejected as being too young, despite already having three years of flight experience under his belt. Instead he was allowed to become a ground mechanic and handyman, serving under the abusive Sergeant Flog. Despite this, he proved his bravery when a Japanese squadron attacked the base, personally shooting down many of the attackers. Deciding to be better prepared should another attack follow, Mickey designed his own plane, and, using parts from various factories, he secretly constructed his unique aircraft in a hidden mountain cavern ten miles from the airfield. Once the plane was finished, and convinced no one was too young to serve their country, he donned a homemade costume, vowing to make the Phantom Eagle known from Tokyo to Berlin. His first opponent were the crew of the "Skeleton Plane," a Japanese plane decked out in a skeletal motif to terrify their opponents.
