History: After being shot by thieves during a supermarket robbery, police officer Danny Ndhlomo was forced to retire due to his injury. Eventually he discovered a strange race of underground creatures who treated his wound, and a bonus transformed him into a superhuman. Deciding to continue to fight for justice and law, he became Mighty Man.

Originally a comic aimed at black South Africans, Mighty Man was later made into a movie, released in 1978. It was filmed in Zulu, and the director was Percival Rubens. However, by the time it was released, the comic had stopped publication, a victim of the unrest in Soweto in 1977.
