First Appearance: Godzilla vs the Cosmic Monster (1974)

Powers/Abilities: He is littered with weapons in all incarnations - laser beams from his eyes, chest, knees and mouth; revolving missiles in his fingers; shoulder-mounted cannons; a powerful forcefield; a diamond coating that absorb's Godzilla's beam; flight capabilities; the brain-destroying G-Crusher; paralysing electric cables; and a molecule-freezing Absolute Zero beam. Some of these weapons are only specific to one incarnation, but in either one MechaGodzilla is a serious threat.

History: The first MechaGodzilla was the creation of the "Spacemen from the Third Planet of the Black Hole", and was intended to conquer Japan and take out Godzilla for them; first time solo, the second with assistance from Titanosaurus. The second MechaG, created in the Heisei film series, was a sleeker creation and was designed by the UNGCC to defend Japan from Godzilla. His third incarnation was designed along the same lines, but was constructed around a genetic template from the original Godzilla (no-one knows why).

Kiryu, the third incarnation of MechaGodzillaComments: In his third form (Kiryu), he was based around the genetics of the original Godzilla. This caused him to go beserk in the middle of battle and he set about destroying the city until his power ran out. There is always the possibility this could happen again...
