History: Richard Stanton was a retired actor whose daughter was kidnapped. Feeling unable to leave it to the police alone to handle, he used his acting skills to disguise himself as an elderly lady, and in this persona was able to effect his daughter's rescue and the criminals' capture. Having seen the need for justice to be meted out, he continued to use this new identity, Madam Fatal, to battle criminals as the world's first transvestite superhero.

Madame Fatal appeared in the first 22 issues of Crime Comics. Since being bought by D.C. the character hasn't been seen much - he had a cameo in DC's The Golden Age #4 in 1993, and was mentioned in JSA #1 (1999) to have died and been buried at Valhalla Cemetary, where many of the company's dead heroes have their final resting place.

Putting on the disguiseHis foe, the Jester, was not the same person as the Quality comics hero of that name.
