History: "In 1953 a hail of meteorite fragments doused the Earth in a rain of fire. The storm lasted barely an hour, but the effects lasted much longer. They theorised about it afterwards. Cosmic rays, gamma radiation, alien dna strands. Whatever it was, whatever the cause, there were suddenly incredible things happening all over the world. There was chaos.

For an entire generation costumed people played merrily across the continents of the world. They called themselves the Futurians, women and men blessed today with the powers of tomorrow. The Light Futurians battled the Dark Futurians, and people picked their favourites and read about their adventures. They swooned as they fell in love and cried as they fell in battle. They became such a part of world culture that it was hard to believe that they hadn't always been there.

But then time moved on. They grew old, retired and eventually died. Swiftly they became a footnote in the history of the world. A freak storm and a generation of colourful battles and adventures in the sky, then the world returned to its cold, grey, reality, left with only stories and legends of what once had been.

There were a few left who remembered, a small few who carried on the tradition. They were the children of the Futurians, attempting to grasp the mantle of their predecessors, to carry on the family tradition. Some of them even inherited their parents' powers. This is the tale of one such man, the son of the Light Futurian known as Helm. The golden age of heroes is long past, but not so in the dreams of the man known as Erik Neptune." All Erik ever wanted was to follow in his father's footsteps, to carry on the heroic tradition that was his birthright, but this was a dream that ended on the day his powers faded. With few Futurians left the world has begun to forget about the superpowered beings that covered the planet mere decades ago. But Erik has never forgotten his dream, waiting for the time when he might again take up the mantle of his father. But this time it seems Erik's dream is about to become a nightmare...
