Powers/Abilities: Strong, though not superhumanly so.

History: Gutsma and Gutspa were once a young married couple who were told by the doctor that they were infertile. They found a baby in a superhero costume, adopted him and the masks in his basket and became Gutspa and Gutsma, raising Gutsman. According to his origin story Gutsman has no superpowers, but has trained a lot to become a strong man. Gutsman knows he’s a comic character, and with the mysterious origin powers can develop.

Comments: Created by Erik Kriek. The character parodies Golden Age superheroes, and strips are frequently done in black and white with no dialogue. Erik often appears in the story too. 

Theodoor Westerhof writes send extra information about Gutsman, and to note "Gutsman’s name is indeed inspired by the Dutch word for gouge, but the English meaning of it has been taken in consideration too. It would still have been "Gougeman". There is often a lot of dialogue in a Gutsman comic, but it isn’t written but drawn. Tigra with a long nose pointed out is "Tigra lies", for instance, which makes it a comic you can easily sell over language borders. The language sometimes used in the comic is English."
