Comments: Created by Arnold Mazos.
Though the first three Bird Man stories show the hero in action with no hint of an alter ego, implying that he lives in the wilderness in tune with nature, the fourth and final Bird Man tale starts with him living in an apartment and wearing a dressing gown to hide his wings. His first three tales see him helping people stuck in the wilderness or endangered by wild animals, both normal and monstrous, but his final tale shows him preventing a rogue scientist from selling a new explosive to a European dictator, much more in line with a regular superhero of the era. In an even bigger departure from previous stories, his wings, previously shown to be part of his arms, are now independent appendages growing from his shoulder blades.
