Powers/Abilities: Able to absorb and control flame. Bulletproof, as bullets melt before hitting him. He can also leap great distances.

History: Fireman Ted Tyler was knocked unconscious by an arsonist, the Bug, and left to die in a laboratory fire. Coated in chemicals in the lab, he survived and gained the power to absorb and control flame. With his new lease of life Ted became the hero Fireball, dedicated to bringing criminals, and arsonists in particular, to justice.

Fireball's identity is publicly known, as he was thanked by city officials as Fireman Taylor while in costume. On his way to stop the Bug from committing further crimes, Fireball climbs out on a skyscraper window ledge, and with no evidence to support the supposition, noted that he had the feeling he could leap great distances, and jumped. Lucky for him he was right; if he'd been wrong, his would have been one of the shortest superhero careers on record. Like many of his era, he's fairly callous about killing wrongdoers, casually setting the arsonist Bug alight; granted, this was the guy who tried to kill Ted.
