Angor demonstrating his immense strengthPowers/Abilities: Dr Mesmer appears to have some magical powers. I don't know if he is able to hypnotise things, as his name might suggest, but he can use at least some magic, being able to revive a mummy to do his bidding - this power may emanate solely from Bulbul however, rather than any mystic ability of Mesmer's own.

Angor, his mummy, is strong and resistant to injury. After being exposed to a heavy dose of radiation during a raid on a hospital, it's strength increased a hundredfold, and it was powerful enough to lift a double-decker bus.

History: When thieves stole a number of ancient Egyptian relics from him, the mysterious Dr Mesmer resurrected a 5000-year old mummy, Angor, to help him recover his collection. Using a cat statuette, Bulbul, the Black Messenger of the Dead, to control his unearthly minion, Mesmer's ruthlessness in retrieving his stolen property soon turned him into a wanted criminal.

Comments: Created by Donne Avenell and Carlos Cruz.

Rebellion bought the rights to Dr. Mesmer, along with hundreds of other Fleetway characters, in 2016, and subsequently launched a series reprinting their adventures under the umbrella title The Treasury of British Comics. Dr. Mesmer is due to return again in August 2018's The Vigilant, as one of the villains of the story.
