Cold Steele

Rifleman Private Robert Steele believed in fighting honourably, but after he and his comrades were forced to surrender to Nazis in Norway, the Germans turned a flamethrower on them anyway. Though badly burned, Steele survives, but suffers further injury by having to play dead lying in freezing snow. Disfigured and partially paralysed along his right hand side, he can no longer work a rifle's trigger, but he hides this from his superiors, determined to fight on with the only weapon he can still use, his bayonet's cold steel.

Cold Steel had a short run in Battle Picture Weekly from 21st February 1976 until 27th March 1976, and was created by Gerry Finley-Day and artists of the Barden Agency.
