Thanks to Paul Muir for informing me of this character, and providing information and images. He notes that Captain Cosmic and Sergeant Star "appeared in the 1999 onwards magazine Cosmic. The mag started as a 90% Captain Cosmic comic strip with some pop pages and items on computer games, later becoming about 60/40 in favour of strips with a pop mag cover (i.e. teeny bands like Bewitched etc). The strip was a cartoon type story which had Captain Cosmic and his sidekick Sergeant Star in a series of adventures that involved the reader in solving puzzles, doing general knowledge questions etc."
Guy Campbell, one of the creators of the character, has written to add "Captain Cosmic appears monthly in Take a Puzzle Magazine in the UK, and that a hardback book The Adventures of Captain Cosmic is available from the publishers by emailing to morancamp@aol.com."
CLARIFICATIONS: Not to be confused with
any other Captains
