Powers/Abilities: Captain Battle was able to fly using a jetpack, which he calls a luceflyer. He was armed with a dissolvo gun capable of turning flesh and bone into a liquified goo, and used a Curvoscope to view any point on the planet. He was an excellent fighter.

History: "Captain Battle, famous hero of World War One, lost an eye while fighting hand-to-hand in Chateau Thierry. Returning home, he dedicated his life to the destruction of evil! His many secret inventions, wide knowledge and amazing strength form an unbeatable combination! Defender of American democracy, fighter for justice, Captain Battle is America's hero!"

Foreseeing another war approaching, World War One veteran John Battle vows he will try to avert it, so that no one will have to be wounded, as he was during the last one when he lost his left eye, or killed. He sets up a mountainside laboratory and begins working on weapons to combat the warmongers, venturing out alongside his son as Captain Battle and Captain Battle Jr.
