Bongo Comics
Bongo Comics Group was founded by Matt Groening (creator of the Simpsons and Futurama), Bill Morrison, and Steve and Cindy Vance. Steve and Cindy had previously published "Simpsons Illustrated", and the success of that spurred them on to launch a line of Simpsons related titles. In January 1993 the first Bongo Comic, "Simpsons Comics And Stories Issue", was released, with additional titles following shortly after. In 2003 they published their first title that wasn't in some shape or form a spin off from either The Simpsons or Futurama, Groening's two hit cartoons, when they released Heroes Anonymous.
