Powers/Abilities: Skin black as night, allowing him to move unseen in the dark. Superhuman strength and invulnerability. Able to fly. Able to generate massive quantities of thick black smoke.

History: Basil Brusiloff was a surgeon in Belgrade who was caught in the hospital's laboratory when a Nazi bomb struck the building. He survived the explosion, but, combined with the chemicals in the room, it somehow turned him totally black. Desiring revenge for this condition, he called himself Blackout, and used his new ability to move unseen in the dark to battle the Axis.

Blackout only had two adventures, in Captain Battle #1 and #5. He wore a green domino mask, though given his distinctive appearance quite why he felt the need is beyond me.
