History: Scientist John Blackwell made a major break-through when he developed a Temporal Dimension Travel machine. This drew interest from many quarters...including some demons, led by the evil Lord Crytpus. He and his minions eagerly waited the activation of the machine, anticipating a portal that would allow them entry to Earth's plane of existence. They were right, and on the day the TDT was tested, an army of demons flooded onto the Earth, massacring every human they encountered. Blackwell fled to save his wife, only to locate the demonic Hell-x standing over her corpse. Then Lord Crytpus entered our reality too, captured Blackwell, and decided to throw him back through the portal into whatever world was beyond. However in the other reality Blackwell was met by a being resembling a giant spider, who offered him revenge in return for being allowed to bond to him. They merged, becoming a new being, Araknis.

Comments: Created by Michael and Mario Ortiz. The title has moved about between a few publishers, from Mushroom Comics to Mystic Comics to Morning Star Productions.
