History:

Comments: In the early days of Marvel U.K., they were entirely geared to reprinting material from the American comics rather than producing original material, but weekly publication schedules meant that the pool of available stories swiftly dwindled. When Marvel U.K.'s Planet of the Apes comic began to catch up with the American comic, Marvel U.K. took the unprecedented step of converting another science fiction Marvel series, Killraven, to fit the Planet of the Apes theme. Jonathan Raven/Killraven became Jonathan Dozer/Apeslayer, with his Martian foes redrawn to become Planet of the Apes gorillas.
