History: When 8 year old Hannah Washington's father was wrongly arrested for armed robbery and sentenced to death, Hannah seemed to slip into a fantasy world to cope, writing in her diary of an adult superhero version of herself, the Ant. In her story Ant battled the Cockroach with the assistance of fellow hero Gadget Man, eventually finding evidence which in the real world Hannah used to clear her father's name. Asked where she got the proof, Hannah claimed it was from who she would be in the future, but when told that her claims could not be true, she suffered a seizure which resulted in her being certified. Somehow Hannah escaped, inexplicably leaving behind a spray can seemingly identical to the ones which, in her diary, gave the Ant her powers.
Hannah's next memory was waking up as an adult, locked up in a mental hospital. Informed that her past recollections were delusions, Hannah refused to believe this, gradually finding more and more evidence to back up her existence as the Ant.
